No. Once the internal battery is charged, you can use its stored energy indoors, at night or away from sunlight. Sunlight is only needed when using the solar panels to replenish the battery.
The number of charges depends on your phone’s battery size, its remaining charge and how you use it while charging. Charging losses also mean the full nominal 20,000mAh is not transferred to your devices.
We recommend fully charging BackupCharge by cable before a trip or anticipated outage. Solar charging provides a supplementary option, but it is slower and depends on sunlight, panel positioning and weather conditions.
BackupCharge has four solar panels in total: one built into the unit and three additional fold-out panels. Fold them together when you’re finished for easier storage.
Your phone must support compatible wireless charging. Place it centrally on the charging surface; thick cases or metal accessories may interfere. Phones without wireless charging can still charge using a suitable USB cable.
Charge compatible phones, earbud cases and other USB-powered devices using the appropriate cable. Check that your device’s charging requirements match the power bank’s output. It is not designed to power household appliances.
